That would be an extremely easy thing to make for any size lathe with enough swing for the wheel size you want to use.

The majority of the cost would be in the wheels and the compounds, which could add up to more than they are selling if for depending on where you get them.

Suggest you be sure to try one before you buy one.

The are a compromise and after using one I found that the contamination between wheels was a proplem and i was not getting finishes I wanted when viewed under magnification.

FWIW, I use a 2 wheel setup and have never found the need for the missing 3rd wheel. One wheel is cotton-muslin, the other is cotton-flannel. I've done pure black blanks with these wheels and can't find any scratches under simple magnification (whatever my magnifier/lamp combo power is)

This setup fits fine on my Jet.
