Does anyone currently doing a plexi finish use BLO before? Any adverse reactions?

I'm going to head to Lowes after work to pick up the stuff needed to try the finish.

I have not used BLO before. I would make sure it is cured out then you should be ok. By the time you melt the plexi, it should be done (if you have already wiped it down and wiped off the excess).

There are some woods for which you will want to add a coat or two of thin CA before adding the Plexi. Plexi/acetone will leach bloodwood and others if you have segments of different colors. A thin coat of CA will prevent this.

ok, well, I just wanted to make that clear. You might be able to accomplish the same thing with a coat of sanding sealer.

I have used BLO with the finish with no probblems. Just make sure to keep the lathe spining and rub all of the BLO into the wood till it is dry.
