I really like the product and their micro wax. However, I have seen the pens that I made as gifts and it appears the finish didn't hold up on at least these two pens. They were both a CSUSA Patriot with Acacia wood. They are used everyday thought. I believe I applied at least 12 coats and then the wax. The finish lasted about a month. This is only my experience. I still like and use the product occasionally.

1. It works best on hard woods.
2. It doesn't fill gaps so make sure you start your finishing over a stable surface. I either use a coat if ca or a drop if pens plus between sanding grits.

3. Really heat it up on the last couple applications. This is important.
