Turned the pen and put just one coat of ca on. The grain is not filled up to give the wood more of a wood look.
Pen made from hard Ziricote wood scientific Name : Cordia dodecandra

Thanks

I would think that it will probably have a long LIFE, given the fact that the main finger grip area is plated metal. . Nice looking pen !!!

Robert, like most open questions, the answer is probably, it depends.

If used extensively as a daily carry pen, the finish will not last very long. If in a purse, it will be a short life. Stored in a drawer and used occasionally a long time.

If it is going to be someone elses pen and a reflection of your work, know how to communicate the strengths and risks of the finishes you are using.

Like your background. The original Life magazine. I was a curator at a photography museum and we had a complete set of Life magazines.
