Help cleaning buffing wheels

I use PSI's buffing system to finish many of my pens. It works very well for me. However, when I buff TruStone, the brass powder (gold matrix) gets into the buffing wheels. When I go to buff a wood pen, the metal gets into the grain and darkens the pen. Any suggestions on how to clean the metal out of the buffing wheels?

You can look for a "rake" for buffing wheels. Caswells (sp) should have it.

Beall wheels I got say in the instructions to use 80 grit sand paper. I run the cleaned wheel over the corner of a board to make sure there is no grit stuck in the fabric.

If you don't want cross contamination you should have a set of buffs for each material. You will drive yourself nuts trying to clean the metal out of a buff and if you succeed it will be because you got rid of a lot of the buff.
