finish on worthless wood

Last summer I made several worthless wood blanks. I am finally getting around to making them into pens.
Question, since the blank is acrylic and wood how do those of you put a finish on them?
I finally ended up using CA glue but it is a lot of work.
Is there any easier way?

Since the wood needs protection, I always use a CA finish on mine. I don't know how other finishes would affect the resins, but CA does an excellent job on the ones I've made.

Just treat it the way you would a wood blank and do your normal CA finish.
