About a month ago I made a Cambridge fountain pen out of purple corncob for a friend. In my process the blanks get taken off the lathe two times so I can squirt thin CA on them to soak good, returned to the lathe, and finished. My final finish is up to MM 12000 and then a coat of Rennasaince(sp) Wax. I saw the pen a couple of days ago and ask if I could have it back. The finish is not shiny and it has a rough feeling to it. What has happened to my CA and what can I do now to fix this mess? Can't remember CA ever wearing off and especially in only a months time.
Thanks,
GaryR

I think it might have soaked into the cob. The underlayers of CA may not have cured as hard as the outer layer you polished.
