Default Ebonite Finishing

Hi Guys and Girls and non gender based pronouns,

I did an ebonite pen today - worked up through the grits etc... .and the finish just wasn't that perfect.

Any special rules, hints, tips for finishing ebonite perfectly ?

Thanks!

I find it needs buffing (tripoli, white diamond, blue compound -- and higher with Plas-glo if possible) to really shine.
