Deliberate Crackle

One of the threads below mentioned an accidental "crackled" finish.
Has anyone discovered how to "deliberately" achieve such a finish?
I think it would look fantastic with the right kit/blank combo.

There is a couple of nail polishes out there that crackle on purpose. You could paint the tube with it then cast it in clear.

I have used some pearlescent finger nail polishes to reverse paint inside translucent acrylic blanks to try to add some depth and they caused a crackle effect in the inside of the blank. It ended up being a pretty cool effect and the customer liked it better.

Yep, this works well. The nail polish is actually called crackle, I think.

so you get 2 colors, one as the base, then overlay it with the "crackle" nail polish? kind of like the pain they have in hardware stores that ae usually used on cabinets?

i guess then you simply clear cast it.

i have had a blue one now for about a month that my wife did, just have to get a mold so i can cast it
