CA and Acrylics

Greetings all knowing!

I think that CA glue is chemically similar to acrylic, but can I use it on top of acrylic? I am curious since I would like to apply a decal to a pen, and the exact color I want is in acrylic.

I have put a CA finish on several turned acrylic pens.

I use CA over acrylic and other plastics -mostly mixed materials (wood and plastic). I apply and finish just as if I was applying it over wood alone. I have not had any problems with adhesion to date. However, CA over 100% non-wood is not a finish that I use often.
