I was wondering if those of you who finish using BLO/CA do the same on light colored wood or if you use a different method since the BLO can tint the light colored wood yellow. Thanks.

It depends on what look you are going for and what kit you are putting it with. I've tried it both ways but prefer to keep the wood lighter by just using CA without the BLO. 4 or 5 coats of thin CA and straight to the buffing wheel. I'm partial to the silver/chrome kits and I believe the lighter appearance matches better. The BLO/CA looks pretty good if you are using a gold kit. Just my .02.

I use CA/BLO on white holly and have no problems with it turning yellow. Just start with a couple of coats of thin CA before you start the CA/BLO routine.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm planning on doing a pen with birdseye maple in the near future. Haven't decided on the kit yet.
