After many years and several thousand of pens using a CA finish without a clouding problem, all of a sudden this month I started having problems with clouding of the CA finish. Frustrations. I hate taking off a finish and reapplying it only to have it happen again. I thought of several things that might cause the problem: water in the air line that I used to pressurize my refillable accelerant applicator - I had recently bought a new air compressor; a change in the paper towels I use to apply the CA finish. I couldn't pin it down. My shop is in the basement, mostly above ground. I have a window air conditioner that runs continuously during the summer and the shop didn't feel humid. I finally decided to try some of Bob Smith's Super Gold CA glue and it immediately solved the problem. No more clouding of the CA finish. No connection - just a happy customer.
