Here are the fantastic entries into the Embedded Casting Contest. Take some time to evaluate the entries for creativity of objects cast, asthetics, as well as fit and finish.

The poll will close Feb. 23 at 8 pm EST. The top 3 vote recipients will then be entered in the finalists poll which will begin Feb. 23 through Feb. 27 at 11pm EST. The winners will be revealed Feb. 28.

The prizes are as follows:

Entry 1

Mini Pinecones cast in a four color pour of Alumilite using Pearl-ex powders, Alumilite Dye and Mica Metal Powder. Pressurized to 80psi after casting to fill voids and clear air bubbles. 10 coats of thin CA and polished with micro-mesh to 12,000. Mounted on a gunmetal Majestic Jr. from PSI.

Entry 5

Specially cut bits of mylar, cardstock & other secret things, cast in alumilite. Coloration is lavender, with added metallic & macropearl powder. "Active" design is paired with simple Cigar hardware in Gunmetal finish.

I call it the Burl Ives because its silver and gold. Brass shavings and trimmings from drilling cartridges for pens. Molten silver swirl Pearlescence on a euro.
