30 Cal Bolt Action (24k Gold) Ballpoint click pen. Material used is the horn of a South African Antelope (a Red Hartebeest) that I personally hunted in South Africa. I started pen turning in 2013 and have made about 50 pens (beginner). Some of my other pens may be of better quality, but this pen is unique because of the material used

Slimline Brushed Satin kit. Used found wood from 30 or 40 year old Wheel Barrow handles. Not sure of wood, maybe hickory. Wood had begun to spalt, gave distinctive light lines. CA Glue finish no polishing.

This pen was made using a Lazerlinez Liberty set with a Buckeye Burl "Worthless Wood" blank. The blank was reverse painted and CA finished. Micro meshed to 12,000 grit and polished.

This is pen number 8 in my pen turning experience. Thank you to my husband for saving this piece of walnut from a tree that was headed for firewood. The tree grew about 4 miles from our house. The maple accent was some shop scrap. Inspiration for pairing the two came from the library of this forum. The kit is a cigar pen kit (I love chunky pens). I have completely enjoyed the art of turning, but I am even more enjoying coming up with ideas for creating unique blanks. Inspiration is everywhere. I now look at trees differently wondering what they look like under their bark.

Hello everybody! My name's Misha Stepenko. I'm 16. I study and live in Ukraine. I've made pens not so long, about two months. It's my eleven pen. I'm using my grandfather's woodworking machine. He's former carpenter. This pen is made by simplest hardware:"Gold Top European Pen (7mm Round Top Pen) Chrome".I took knurr wild forest cherry.I decided to abandon the standard form and changed the shape of the upper part of the cap and closed the pen clip. And experimented with top shape. My wooden pen has got elegant and convenient form for writing. I've got many creative ideas and I promise to show you! Thank you for your attention.

This pen is the 6th I have turned and probably the first that I am truly satisfied with. It is a chrome "Segmented" from PSI and the wood is Bethlehem Olive or at least it's supposed to be. (I read the very interesting thread about the Israeli Olivewood with regard to authenticity) The finish is basic Ultra-Shine followed by Shellawax and turned out great. Thank you and good luck to everyone!

My daughter is the more experienced pen turner in the family but unfortunately is away at college now. I wanted to do something to eventually donate to Hospital my wife and I work at so I had my daughter teach me how to make a stamp blank, cast it, and finally turn it

I first touched a lathe 4 weeks ago... turned my first pen at home last night... My wife likes this one I made tonight better, so... here it is...it is a $5.99 acrylic block, and $10.50 Princeton Pen Kit platinum from WoodCraft. I will admit that I have a good size learning curve ahead, but for pen #3, I am satisfied, lol...

This is only the 2nd pen I've turned and 3rd project on the Lathe. It is a Bocote Blank shaped for comfortable ergonomics and beauty. I used a Copper Slimline Kit. Thank You!

This Comfort Style pen is one of my first and it was made with a piece of scrap wood that my daughter found. I really enjoyed making it and loved the way it turned out as the first couple of pens I tried didn't fare so well as far as the finish. Thank you for taking a look!

I call it the Mocha Oreo. It's a chrome plated Sierra that has been adorned with two sections of ebony separated by a white coffee bean blank.

The kit used is the long clicker pen in chrome from Exotic Blanks. The center of the pen is a beautiful buckeye burl from rockb, and on either end is redwood burl. Separating the burls is a piece of gaboon ebony with aluminum on either side. Thank you for your consideration.

I started by making a laminated blank of walnut and red oak. I added the double celtic knot in a basket weave and burned the rings with a wire on the top tube. on the bottom tube I added two 60 degree spalted oak pieces and put it on the copper Fun Line kit from PSI I think.

This pen is a standard Woodcraft chrome slim line Pen. The two woods are unknown, but they did come from the large 30 kit set that Woodcraft sells. The segments are divided by aluminum from a Coke can. The finish is CA. This pen is actually the 3rd pen I've attempted to make and I have no other turning experience. I really enjoyed making this, Thanks!

This is a dyed and stabilized piece of Box Elder. This was my first try of stabilizing, and I did not use enough dye, and the blank did not fully take the dye either. This is a Gun Metal Cigar kit.

This pen was turned from a cocobolo pen blank using a legacy slimline pen kit. It was finished to 600 grit and a bit of steel wool then renaissance wax was applied. This was my 3rd thing I've turned since getting into woodturning a week ago after a brief introduction in shop class 16 years ago.

This is only my second pen that i have made. I used the slimline kit from woodcraft. I took a piece of purple heart and a piece of yellow wood. I then put them on my scroll saw and made both of the segmented blanks. As with anything I need to improve but overall I am happy. Thanks to this forum I have gained some knowledge to help me with my next pen!

This is a Sierra Black Ti & Platinum ball-point kit. The blank is a burl cap & blue pearl-escent (sp???) acrylic. My wonderful wife took the pictures and our two year old said these were "pwitty!", so Enjoy!

Well, my original entry blew up on the lathe, so this quickly became my "Plan B!" It's a 24k gold plated Victorian Twist ballpoint from Penn State Ind. The blank is a white Tru-Stone with the gold matrix. This wasn't intended to be a contest entry, so I didn't do anything too fancy here - I just wanted the pen and the blank's beauty to speak for itself!

This is a Mesa Twist Pen from Wood Turningz with Black and Gold Trim. The body is done is Turquoise Acrylic with Buffalo Horn on top. Actually this pen had a blow out on top, so I fashioned a small piece of Buffalo Horn a and glued it with thin CA. Wasn't sure if it would work, but the result turned out real nice. I finished this one with 6 coats of Medium CA.
