Both the woodcraft and rockler stainless ice cream scoops have threaded inserts that are screwed into the handle blank directly and glued in. This makes future removal for cleaning the scoop or refreshing the handle in a lathe impossible.

I'm thinking about trying to see if someone can make a round internally threaded insert to be epoxied Into a handle blank to allow for future removal. If I can get these done inexpensively, is anyone interested on purchasing 10 or more?

Also, if you have the ability to make these - I'm guessing fairly simple? For an experienced metal lathe operator, please message me.

You may be able to find the metal inserts in brass at WC or the BORG. I've used the brass ones before when doing flat work.

you can get basically the same thing made of brass - usually available at any hardware store, and they come in several different thread sizes.
