Hi peoples,

Is not rare that I get requests to make some Resifill type blanks/castings, for all sorts of uses and sizes, recently I had a request to make 4 (four) handgun grips blanks for a 1911 style handgun.

The request was for 4 sets (booked matched) made from my #30 Bottle Brush Root, stabilized and cast in coloured resin. This person saw the various cuts and natural wood effects possible from this Bottle Brush Root of mine and wanted some of those characteristics as part of the final result so, this is what I come out with;

About 2 weeks later they arrive to their destiny and the blanks were sent to the person that would work them into 1911 grips, I believe the person that worked on them, specialises on this type of work.

A few weeks later I get an email from the gun owner, showing me the 4 finished grips that he had just received from the grip maker and here they are, great workmanship no doubt...!

They are just too pretty, to not been shown so, making the blanks alone is only part of the requirements, the person that shaped and finish these grips have to be acknowledged also, and this is my stamp of approval to him...!

This morning, I got another email but this time, the handgun owner decided to dress his old girl with the new grips and take a pic of each set.

This 1911, has had lots of action and I have no doubt, is still a functional as it was when new, these are some though workers...!

I can just imagine how these grips would look in a chrome or stainless 1911, would be out of this world, for sure...!

So folks, male and female, knock yourselves out...!

Thanks for looking...!

PS: Yes, you are free to comment...!:wink::biggrin:

Cheers
George

Have them send me a set of grips and I'll be happy to send photos of them on my stainless 1911. :biggrin:

Beautiful work.

And I'd be happy to provide pictures of some grips on my Norinco and my stainless and black Springfield... Selflessly, of course.
I have a friend who makes grips. I need to get him to make me some like this.

God damn Ed, that's a beautiful wood and carving you got there...!:eek::eek::)

Is that a replica because if it isn't, that stock ain't the original, it can't be, is too perfect and not soaked enough with oil to the the original one, for sure.

Tells us a bit more about this "treasure"

Once upon a time, I had a friend with one of these and he hunted hogs with it so, his load were hot, I mean very hot, the first time I shot it, I felt that I snapped my wrist, it hurt for days, with my both wrists operated on last year, I wouldn't wanted to shoot anything like that, still I appreciate art regardless in what form is come with...!

Thanks for sharing you "baby":wink::biggrin:

This is a Pedersoli kit. This one comes in 20x20, 20x50 and 50x50. This model is 20x50. 20 gauge and 50 caliber. I wish now I had got it in 20x20. Yes she is functional and I do take her to the range from time to time.

I have fired several originals from the 1800's and I would prefer to fire this beauty :) The stock is walnut and the carvings was done by a master. It took me a year to find him and decide the work that was needed.

Now, I have a full size 19x19 flintlock that I will be 'converting' as well to make a matching set. She is currently in the design stage. Going to do some very fun stuff with her. New locks, might put a new stock on it carved to match my howdah.

they are AWESOME!! Truly unique

Hello Mr. Clint...!:wink:

And this my friends, is the person that ordered those pistol grips and owns the hard working 1911 I showed on the original set of pics HOWEVER, and after I questioned how these grips would look in a stainless steel or chrome handgun, he surprised me a second set of pics where the grips are installed on a stainless steel handgun and that my friends, looks exactly as I predicted, just beautiful stuff...!

I apologise to Clinton for not posting these pics after I received them, and while my intention was to just do that, I forgot, off-course...!:frown:

Anyway, I will correct that by showing the pics he sent me...!

Enjoy...!:wink:

Cheers
George
