I was going to add this information to some other threads I made recently about these 2 wood species but I then thought that would be less confusing to make a dedicated thread for the possible sale of some of these blanks that I promised to take pics of and show them to all of you.

I started cleaning the bark from the new Cork tree burl blanks I now have and that I have ben cutting these past few days, some go for pen blanks, other for casting, sole go for slices and some are cut into small and medium size bowl blanks, that can have the top burl cap cut or left for those wanting to create natural edge pieces as some of the pieces I recently turned and shown here.

To note that, each blank as 2 pics taken, one from the side and front with all its info and the other pic is from the other 2 sides and the underneath.

After the Cork pieces, I continued with some of the Peppercorn burl bowl blanks, I didn't clean as many as the bark is harder to remove but, I have plenty that are cut and drying for later to remove the bark.

None of these blanks have been in the oven yet, I'm hoping that the water dries out soon because these 2 wood species are of fairly light weight nature so, less expensive to ship overseas

All these blanks were cut having in mind the average lathe size you guys have, I know some of you have big lathes and I can cut bigger blanks but these sizes will suit any of those of you that want to have a go turning these woods. They both are a pleasure to turn...!

I Haven't put any prices yet, I'm considering how much to charge but and always, whatever I decided, will be a fair price...!

Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers
George

I would be interested in one of each if you have some without the burl caps. I'm not into natural edge turning just yet. I need to further develop my plain bowl turning skills first.

George, I'm interested in both and I'm cheaper to post to

Hi Pat,

Yes you are, lucky you...!:wink::biggrin:

I have decided on the prices and I will charge AU$20.00 per kilo of either burl wood...!

What sizes are you after...?

Any already cut, of interest...?

I will have some more pics soon of more Peppercorn blanks already cut, soon.

Cheers

Probably around 5-6" x 2-3"
I'm really not too particular. I do bave a large lathe & a good bandsaw, so I can handle most any size, but I'm still mostly doing fairly small bowls while I develop my skills & techniques.

Thanks - this should be some fun wood to work with.

Hi Edgar,

I got the 2 blanks for you in the oven to lose hopefully some of the weight they had from water.

I used the Cork burl blank #4, cut the burled top, the Peppercorn burl one, I selected one of the blanks I had already processed but not listed yet, its size and grain made me select it for you and again, I removed the burl cap it had.

Sometimes and when I can, I prefer to leave the burl cap/top, I can always cut it later but, I can't do it the other way around...!

The pic attached shows the 2 blanks, their size (oops, I forgot to re-measure after I cut the tops off) and the weight after the tops off, they show 5kg for both, I'm hoping to get it down to 4kg if possible.

These can be sent via sea-freight if you are not in a hurry, about 90 days or so. The cost will be about 40% less than the air-freight but I will send you a PM with values...!

Cheers
George

Those are awesome blanks, George. Thanks so much!

Let's go sea-freight. I am in no hurry & that should still be enough time for me to turn one of these as a Christmas present for my wife.

Some more blanks...!

I have had this bunch of blanks cut for a few days but only today I had the chance to take the pics so, here they are...!

Remember that, each blank has 2 pics and that the cost will be calculated per kilo where the burl blanks are AU$20.00 per kg, the ones with no burl at AU$10.00 per kg and the ones with 50/50 are AU$15.00 per kg.

Let me know if you are interested..!

Cheers
George
