Hi peoples,

My Olive root slabs are now getting pretty decent to work with so, I'm starting to make stuff with them.

I just finished a bunch of cast blanks, that will be suitable for a large variety of things, from Jewellery boxes, pendants, knife handles, pen blanks, bottle stoppers, etc, etc.

Most of them were cast with this new colours called Shimmer Violet, a colour that I like very much and is perfectly suitable for woods such as the Olive root. I made a few with the Sky-Blue, as I run out of the new violet.

Any of the bigger and odd shapes are indeed a challenge to cast, lots of time spended on these...!

I have listed part of these blanks tonight, they are under the "box blanks" if you are interested however, I decided to show them all to you here on IAP and under my Vendor's space, I pay for the privilege so, is better to make some use of it...!

Anyway, if you get bored looking at pics, please look away...!:biggrin:

Here we go...! Look here

The first lot are matched pairs.

Enjoy,

Cheers
George

Nice. For sale on your site?

I'd like something for some pendants with the violet!

G'day mate,

Sure, you have plenty to pick from, the only 2 "dedicated" pendant blanks are #18 & 19 but, you can slice some of the bigger blanks into what you want. In the case of blanks 18 & 19, at 22 & 24mm respectively, you can make 2 pendants from each blank, for example on the blank #17 you can make 4 pendants, 2 good pen blanks and so on.

Look at blanks such as #7, you can make easily 6 pendant blanks, 9 full size pen blanks or 8 bottle stopper blanks, its all in the way you look at the blank's shape and size, the options are endless and it works considerably cheaper, compared with buying singles blanks so, the question could be asked, why do I do it...??? because I want and I can...!:biggrin:

The perception of "expensive" start to be obvious with the bigger blanks and the use some people would want them for. Is a big different between wanting to make a bowl a vase or other similar items with a blank that has been cast, and a half log, the bigger the cast is, is more difficult it will become to make, and the bigger the resin waste will be, time and everything else so, I just want to make sure I can have some "unusual" size blanks that people can use and make that something that they had never the correct blanks to work with, I hope I can achieve that, at least...!

I will be posting soon, a large number of Olive root raw blanks of all sizes, some quite big chunks that you guys and gals can use to cast or do you own experimentations, the wood as is, offers great possibilities so, is up to you to put it in good use...!

PS: The Raw Olive root will be priced fair, to allow everyone to have some to play with...! here

Cheers
George

Well, you may have missed it, if you are looking for pen blanks, you find them under Pen blanks raw wood or straight cut here if you are looking for the higher grade Olive wood blanks, you find then under pen blanks special grade - exhibition grade here, if you are looking for Resifills (wood and resin blanks), pen blanks Resifills are here and if, you are looking for bigger the pen blanks, you have to look under "knife blanks", "box making/Jewellry" or "other woods" logs/slabs/boards...!

All these I'm referring to, are in my private web-site, forget about eBay, I'm slowly getting out.

You should be able to find what you want but looking at the menu bar at the page top and see what each subject contain, a drop down menu should drop down with the options available, from there, you should have no problems in seeing what you are after (or maybe not, if what you are after, is not listed, in that case, simply contact me...!)

Hope this helps...!

Cheers

hey George - I won a gift cert in the trivia contest, but don't have details on how to redeem it yet.

Could I claim one of these to be bought with that gift cert?

I'm pretty found of #22

Well, to redeem those "gift vouchers", you simply make your order through my private web-store and at the end, you will be asked if you have a voucher #, if you do, you enter the voucher unique number and the voucher value goes towards the item(s) value and not the shipping.

If the voucher has a bigger amount than the cost of the item(s), you will be asked to pay for the shipping and the remaining amount of the voucher, will work as a credit for next time.

If the total of the order in over the voucher value, when you enter is unique number, it will deduct that amount to the items amount and presents you with the outstanding amount owing, very simple, really...!

Is that #22 the raw blank in here...???

PS: When I first created the gift or discount vouchers, I give them a due date, normally 6 months or less so, is always better to claim them sooner rather than later. If when entering the voucher #, it says that its out of date, please contact me...!

Cheers

no - that's not right. I can't figure out how to link exactly to the right picture.

it's square(ish) with the #14 on the block and says weight is 360g

and don't worry - I'll spend all my voucher at the same time. LOL
