HI Peoples,

I've got a very easy game this time, you don't need to be an expert to get the answers right or close enough, have a good and close look at the pics and give me your best guess.

So, the questions are;

* How much did that log weigh...?

* What are its dimensions...?

* What type of wood is it...?

I would like to remind you all of the new conditions I introduced on game #32 and that, is what actually the gift voucher amount will be spent on, and allow the actual winners to make their own choices. The only RULE that I ask you all to respect is that I allow each 1/3 of the value amount (AU$100.00) to be used on the selection of blanks/packs between the 3 main blanks types I make/sell, there is, raw/natural wood blanks, stabilized blanks/packs and Resifills (cast blanks), this means basically that you can select 1/3 of each type or all raw/natural blanks but never the voucher amount of all stabilized or Resifill blanks, I hope this has come clear if not, let me know...!

A voucher code will be sent by PM or email to the winner that will use it to put his/her's order, any freight/shipping is not included in the prize/voucher so, you will be requested at checkout to pay for posting.

Note: One set of guesses per post and a maximum of 3 guesses sets per member so, pick well...!

Cheers
George

Might be too early for me to play since I won a couple months ago, but I like taking a guess!

Golden wattle
98 lbs or 44.5 kilos
16 inches (40 cm) in diameter by 40 inches (101.5 cm) tall

Even if someone had won the last game, it would be most OK to play the game the responses/guesses if correct wouldn't be considered, as I often remind all participants.

Since the slight rules amendments/conditions in recent times and due to the prize value offered, I would not award the same person 2 games in a row but, if there are at least 2 games in between wins, I will have no problem in award that person with the prize.

That's what I thought I had read, so it's fun to guess anyways! Thanks for these fun games. It's good to keep the mind going.

George. We know that you are smart enough to keep the pullies and chains out of the picture. The guys with the smarts are always going to confuse the younger members.

Edgar is a great example.

I won't even try.......Haven't a clue what the type of wood it could be.:)

I'm sure that it must be Sassafras.

Either that or Hills Weeping Fig.

Possibly...! I've seen some very strange things here in Australia, possibly an interbreed between those two, something close enough to Sasshillpingfig(ure that out...!):biggrin:

Cheers
George

Now that would be a great name for one of your unknown woods. :)

Hey I am living in the south, so here is the southern answer...

How much does it weigh: It's a heavy sun of a beech
How big is it: It's a big sun of a beech
What type of wood is it: Here hold my beer, that sure is purty wood

Hahahah mate, you are of an impatient nature, aren't you...??

So, you want clues..! OK here they go...!

Let's work out the difference between kilos (what I use) and pounds (what most of you use) so, 1kg represents about 2.20lbs

The log weighed between 20kg and 29,9kg

The dimensions are sufficient to get 5 blanks to make large shakers as tall as about 15" or so, maybe less...!:)

The wood species is found all over the world, (well, sort off) its bark is extremely slippery to walk on, I know, I almost broke my leg when once I slip from a pile of these logs and got my foot jammed in a gap, throwing me head down with a chainsaw going on one hand getting far too close for comfort (some of you may remember that story...!)

The bark has a very strong smell when green in a dead/cut tree.

Are all these clues good enough...??

Has anyone got close, yet..? Nope...!

I have 14 participants, only 3 of them have completed the 3 guesses sets, edicehouse has 2 guesses sets and the rest only have 1 guesses set so, 2 more to go, just in case they didn't realised that...!

I'm looking for 20 names/participants, only 6 to go and I would like to see also new members having a go and everyone to use the 3 guesses sets I requested, please...!:)

Are you happy now, Kelly...?

Cheers
George
