Ultra Cigar

I purchased a few of the Ultra Cigar kits. They are really quite nice. My question is in regards to the trim ring just above the nib. Every one looks as if the diameter is too large. You can see that it is significantly larger than the parts on either side.
Suggestions?

That look is just the styling of this pen kit; it is not a flaw.

The illustration on Ed's website does not look like this, at all. The ring doesn't flow with the shape.

it sure appears to me that the rings you are talking about do stand out from their surroundings.

Of course, pictures can sometimes give the wrong impression due to shadows, etc.

I just fished out an Ultra Cigar pen which I made for a BASH contest about 3 years ago. . I don't have the picture any more so I can't send it. . But the rings on it definitely stand out. . I can't seem to find a picture of it to send you.

Nice Pen, looks great. My Ultra Cigar pens nib accent ring look like yours too, they are about 2 years old. I think it is just the styling on this pen kit.

Try to match the angle in the photo on the website and snap a picture of yours. I think you will be surprised how close to the same they look.

There are many kits out there that this feature is present and it is the style of the kit. Abrams kit comes to mind.
