I have a customer who reports that he finished a blank (that was made with alumilite) with EEE (exactly what he said, don't know for certain what it was) and the alumilite started to bubble.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Thanks for any input!!

If you hack at any plastic blank with a scraper and leave little divots all over the place they will nicely fill in as little white spots (aka bubbles) with any sanding / wax / polish.

If they were buffing and were WAAAAY too agressive they might be able to heat the blank enough to create some interesting surface texture on it. I would think it would smell pretty bad at that point though.....

If the blank had embedded organic matter that connected to the surface after turning it could wick moisture (water / hot wax) into the blank and look pretty funny after being polished.

Might have nothing to do with what your customer saw, but it's a thought.
