A curious question. Let's say you needed black plastic to make a black pen, kit or kit less. Your option was buy a 7/8x5.25 blank at $7, or a 4x5.25 block at $28, what would you prefer.
Personally I would buy the block. If I was making a kit pen then I know that I will be using about 4.25-4.5" of length. So I know I can cut 3/4" off the bottom and then turn the block lengthwise and get 4 more blanks. If I wanted a kit less pen, 5.25 long isn't long enough and if I buy 2 blanks I am at potential risk of the colors not being 100% the same as they might be from a different block. Unlikely with black, but you know what I mean. And then there's the possibility I am making slims, I can cut block thinner blanks, or cut strips for segments from the block, or carve it into a duck...the possibilities so much more with a block than a blank.
But the customers make the decisions regardless what we argue...so the question stands...you prefer blank or block?
