Default May '15 Meeting

Great meeting tonite.

Two new members and two additional visitors gave us a an attendance of 15 which makes for a great group.

We had a dual Demo agenda, with Lori showing us her technique for creating segmented blanks using a Proxxon saw and how she glues them up for drilling and turning. Following that Gordon demonstrated three methods for drilling on the lathe using a Nova chuck with pen jaws, a Beall collet chuck, and the PSI jaws. It is nice to have options. These methods increase the accuracy of drilling.

Following the Demos, we discussed some new plans for growing the chapter and making it more interesting to new members.

We elected new officers for the coming year (Jun - May). The new president, J R Palmer provided us with some of his thoughts for the Chapter over the next year.

Membership in IAP, both individual and Chapter, was discussed explaining the benefits. Our hope is to do a demo in the near future, giving a guided tour of the IAP website and the information available.

Next meeting is the first Thur of June at 6:30 at San Antonio Woodcraft.
See you there.
SOMETIMES I PRETEND TO BE NORMAL... but it gets I go back be being me.

The word 'listen' contains the same letters as the word 'silent. Is that like <<<<<ZIP IT<<<<<<
