Our first entry.

My Pen is made out of Dyed Maple Burl Wood. It is a Ball point kit that I love and enjoy using. This is my second pen I personally have made all by myself.

A Zebrawood slimline, minus the clip. A great excuse to get me into the shop, again!

Chrome Mesa in Stabilized Buckeye Burl.

This is a prairie rattlesnake skin on a slimline from my own cast blanks.

Number 5

This is an Art Deco ballpoint made out of red and gold matrix tru-stone. I turned this pen with nothing but a 7/8 and a 1/4 skew chisel, between centers. This pen has not had any finish applied, I just sanded the surface down to 12,000 grit.

I cannot remember the exact age, but when I was young, and he determined it to be the right age, my Dad started to teach me to use the metal lathe. I am forever thankful. All of you who have pens in this competition have been learning carefully from a mentor, and have produced excellent results. I am happy for you and encourage you to keep up the great work.
