Ready for some more pain?

The bowl is made from the heart wood while the other piece is normal timber.

Remember there are only 9 more Slate Thermometers to be won.:)

Thanks to Classic Nib for todays prize.

Good Luck everyone.

Just had a black-out.

Bob.

pepperwood

Congratulations Hugo, WE HAVE A WINNER.

This has been a tricky one. The answer I was looking for is "PEPPER TREE",
(Schinus molle) which is also known as American Pepper tree, and California Pepper tree, even though both of the American trees are a different species.
So in fairness to everyone I have accepted the 'Common name" of Pepperwood.

Sorry Guys, I created this mess all by myself.

Google 'Schinus molle' and you get the Pepper tree, AKA, American Pepper tree and California Pepper tree etc.
Google 'Pepperwood' and you get Three different tree Genus, which are commonly known as American Pepper tree and California Pepper tree etc.
So please understand that the guess 'Pepperwood' was both correct and incorrect.
I would have been P******d off if the situation was reversed.
I hope you understand.

Bob.
