The AAW's charity relief auction has begun. Be generous and place some
bids on these tremendous pieces of turned art. Here's the link:

Here's what the AAW says happened:

"Due to a technical policy error, the AAW Emergency Relief Auction
being held on eBay has been terminated for the time being. The actual
problem was that an officer of the AAW had bid on an item in the
auction for their personal account and the computers at eBay cross
referenced their personal account with information about them being
an officer of AAW and picked that up as a violation of eBay's policy.
Obviously, we were unaware of this being a prohibited action. The
auction will be rescheduled with the specifics of date and time to be
announced. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Please forward this message to your collectors who may have been
directed to the auction site.

John Hill - AAW Treasurer"

Some of the artists were bidding on their own work. Pumping up the price of their pieces. It may be for a good cause but safeguards are built into ebay to protect the buyers.
