Default Wood ?

Could somebody tell me what type of wood this is? I got it from Edgar a few yrs back. All it had on it was a question mark.

This is a wild guess, but I'm going to say walnut.

You could ask him if he now knows what it is . Perhaps he has learned something from the wood guessing contests he likes to run .

I thought walnut. But its harder. I tuned a walnut pot right after.

Was it stained or just clear coat?? Do you have any unstained or plain. Can you turn it over??

Jog my memory a bit - what size was the piece? I'll check to see if I have any more like that in my stash.

Walnut varies in density.
This looks like black walnut.
