his is a modified creekline/slimline. Only the clip and finial show. Main wood is spalted maple, accent is ebony. I replaced the center band with a piece of the maple sandwiched between ebony. The nib has been replaced with ebony.

I used two types of casein blanks (purchased on eBay), a multicolored blank for the body (and accent on the clip) and a white blank for the nib and the clip. The clip was part turned on the lathe then sculpted using various bits on a Dremel tool. Picture #3 is to show the slimline parts I used, the tubes and the transmission :)

I attach 3 photos of my Slimline pen. It was made of sweet cherries.

It is made of black locust burl, desert ironwood and mother-of-pearl dots. A MOP cabochon on top of a little piece of DIW is used as a roll stop.

This is my version of the slimline! I'm a fan of the European Pen shape, so I modified this slimline to be a cross (excuse the pun) between a kitless pen and a European pen. I cast the icy geode blank using alumilite resin. The steel blue, brilliant grey, and white swirls pair nicely with the chrome slimline clip. The body of the pen is tapered just like you would find on a European kit. I eliminated the nib of the original slimline kit in favor of a single piece of resin, similar to what you would find on a kitless pen. To accomplish this, I drilled a series of holes to different depths to accommodate the cross refill with a snug fit. My favorite part of the pen is the custom finial I turned using the remaining part of the blank. I measured the finial from the slimline kit and turned a resin finial to the exact same dimensions, only slightly tapering the part that presses into the tube. The finial is compression fit inside the tube, the same way you would assemble a slimline kit. I did my best to match the colors on the finial to the top of the pen. I really enjoyed challenging myself with this one. Thanks for looking!

Here is my submission for the Slimline contest. It uses the nib, tubes, and clip, of a chrome Slimline kit. The barrel is snakewood, and it is the elusive slim click pen, with a Parker refill. I hope you like it.

My entry is a Bog Oak and Copper modified slimline. It's closed end, nibless, has a custom fixed center band (from a brake hose washer), and a handmade clip made from copper wire. So, from the original kit, I used the tubes, transmission, and refill.

I turned, carved and painted the pen. I also cast and turned the "ink bottle".

Picking one not an easy thing. Good to see so many contestants expanding their ideas with the use of a simple kit as it has become to be known over the years. Making it tough on the voters is the name of the game. Job well done.:)
