I took six different colors, glued them together into a 5x5" block, and cut them on the diagonal. The turners at the center love to make the "rainbow" pens.

It is pretty neat stuff and the color patterns can be endless.

Last year I made these baskets from sheets of the stuff. They had a sale on sheets.

I often use the 3x3x11 blanks in my pepper mills... I slice them into variable widths and incorporate them in my glue ups... good stuff to work with.

You can carefully slice off a very narrow piece and segment it in for some quick and easy color bands in a pen.

Here a couple of seam rippers done with ColorWood a while back. It really enhances some turnings...and flat work too!
One is flat cut...the other diagonal.
