Makes me home sick for Pa. where I had my sawmill on my in-laws farm. I know that feeling when you cut open a log and that wonderful grain pattern just jumps out at you :tongue: That is some AWESOME lumber on that site. Got to save that one. I have some awesome Norway Maple with great curl / burl / eyes / and slight spalting I cut up into pen blanks. I sent them to Bill at Arizona Silhouette to be stabilized about 4 years ago and he wanted to buy them and more. I recently used some of these blanks and they turned out great. Once I figure out where and how to post pictures, I will post a few pens.

Here's some wood to drool over.

I found these pictures in one of my MSN wood turning groups. This is supposed to be the oldest known workable wood in the world. It has been carbon dated as being 3860 years old. This is the caption that went with the pictures;
CARBON DATED KAURI WOOD 3860 YEARS OLD FROM PEAT SWAMPS NORHLAND NEW ZEALAND
How would you like to get your hands on that?
Here's where the rest of the pictures are;
