Sharping A Carbide Gouge & looking For a Tool Rest

I need some help I have a carbide 3/8 gouge from PSI .
My question is what is the best way to get it sharpened ?
I though I saw or heard some were that you should not put it to a grinder
is that right ?
Also I don't want to have to start a new thread about a tool rest so I will add it here
I'm looking to find a tool rest that looks like a robust comfort rest
I need a 5/8 shaft but I don't want the little one that don't reach in as far
I want it to reach in farther like the one for the one inch shaft
Is there anyone here that could make one if they understand what I'm talking about

Bill I believe those gouges are not true carbide or at least grade A carbide. But with that said any true carbide tool can only be sharpened and I say that loosely because it is really honing that you are doing, with a diamond hone or stone. No grinding wheel will touch it. Besides if it is true carbide then they should last a long time before needing honing. If needed then just use a diamond card and rub the back of the gouge and do not touch the inside of the flute.

As far as the rest I use and love my Roborests.
