I would like to install a camera to monitor the door. Would like to mount a monitor inside. Would like to do this as a wireless set up with no phone or wifi. Any recommendations? Need to keep it simple because different people will be watching the monitor.

Any off-the-shelf wireless system from Sam's/Costco/etc will do the job depending on the options you want. Keep in mind that you do have to have a pair of wires run to each camera you install to supply power (usually from a wall wart on a small system).

I have (3) different Arlo brand cameras (5 total) and have recommended to (4) friends who all enjoy too. Arlo came recommended by a security specialist I work with and the company has had positive growth in the past few years since my original purchase.

Front door - Arlo Pro
Back door/yard
Shed (80 feet from the house)
Inside Garage
Living Room -Arlo Q

You do need Wi-Fi but there is no monthly cost for (5) cameras and can stream live through a very practical app on phone or tablet and store (7) days worth or recordings for free on the cloud. Great for keeping an eye on all my deliveries!

There I go again, selling their stuff again...

(Go with the Pro for best battery option and audio recording and two way - caught the UPS guy laughing his tail off as my neighbors dogs were playfully annoying the tar out of him on my front porch)

Did you have to mess with port forwarding and can you use a phone or other smart device to view? Thank you.

I did not. They have apps for both phones and tablets, haven't used the web based enough to comment on.
