I had a request for 5 bottle stoppers in spalted Maple. This is what I came up with, home stabilized with plexi, CA finish.

Wow, it's amazing to see the differences in the wood. The stoppers look great, too! Really cool shapes, and the finish looks nice and shiny!

My only off comment would be to not make a pointed top like you have on the left one... I did that on my first BS and proceeded to leave a nasty mark on my hand when I tapped it in place without thinking.. [xx(]
YEAH, YEAH, Dumb as a box of rocks... I already know and my wife keeps reminding me.. [:(][:(]

Thanks, guys! Jim, I know what you mean. It's hard to believe that all of these came from the same 8" section of a 9" diameter log. Tom, I get you point (LOL[:p])... I didn't even think of that when I did it. It was just a shape that came about while I was finishing off the top and I liked where it was going so I embellished it a bit.
