We will be meeting August 12 from 10am - 1pm at
Rockler Woodworking and Hardware
139 South Weber Road
Bolingbrook, IL 60490
Don McCloskey will be showing us how to make a Celtic Knot pen.
Here are some photos from the June gathering. We had a casting demo by JohnnyU and tips from Dick Sing with Ed Brown from Exotic Blanks. The pen challenge was to make a closed end pen.

How did the meeting go? I did not make the meeting I was out of town. I would have liked to see how Don McCloskey made his Celtic Knot pen.

My recap is at:

http://www.penturners.org/forum/f38...-mark-james-chevron-blank-149950/#post1937813

The demo was a lot of fun and we had a lot of conversation this month. Between Don McCloskey and the Celtic knot and Dick Sing with some tips and tricks - I hope everyone had a good time. Also please to announce Mark James will be the feature presenter in October with both the IAP collection and his Chevron blank making techniques.

Also have two volunteers for the next two meetings and we will be adding a new 20 minute short demo each month. For October Chris volunteered to do lathe maintenance.

I hope everyone is enjoying this as much as I am.
