New soft maple, starting the New Year the RIGHT WA

Brought a buttress flare section off a soft maple log home today. Well not the whole section, it's 42" in diameter. There was alot of rot in the center, but look what I got from the solid stock!!! Lots of blisters and very sharp line curl. The pic is a little short on detail, but I think you will get the idea. I put a couple of blanks in the microwave tonight and should have the pens turned tomorrow. Now this is a great way to start the New Year! Better than a hangover as well.

That's some fantastic wood, there... 42" is a pretty huge tree!
