I am wondering if we should set up a new forum area for the group that would take care of all the medical updates and prayer requests? I am suggesting this because I didn't want to hijack the efforts help Tom and his wife and posting in that forum or maybe that is the right place to post these things.

There are a few reasons for this.
1) I lose track of the different requests that I am genuinely interested in keeping track of and I'm not nearly as old as <insert butt of joke here>.

2) It would provide an area for people to post an update to keep us informed of their surgery, thanks for prayers, etc.

3) Self-serving reason - You guys were great when we had our first child and when I lost my brother. We are expecting our second child and Kellie is in the hopital for the next 7 weeks (not including 2.5 already 'served') due to complications (Vasa Previa).

If I am barking up the wrong tree with this, ignore the thread but I could use a few prayers for a healthy Bethany (yes, a baby girl) and Kellie.

I will say that I have a greater respect for single parents since EJ and I have been going it alone since mom is in the hospital.

Happy Tuesday everyone.
Eric

Eric - I will keep you and your family in my prayers. As for keeping track of special posts, Jeff has provided a "bookmark" feature for just this purpose. It is the little gold star above each post. It sets up a personal bookmark for you to come back to time and again. You can also delete bookmarks when they are no longer needed. You can also subscribe to a topic and you will receive an email everytime a new post is made. Hopefully one of these methods will help us all keep track of those special topics.

Hi Eric,

I wanted to invite you and Kellie to visit the International Vasa Previa Foundation's website at www.IVPF.org. I think you will find valuable infomation there on your wife's condition.

We also have a vasa previa email discussion group at:
http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/Vasa_ Previa. There you will find other prenatally diagnosed women who are also in the hospital waiting on the safe arrival of their baby.

Best wishes to you and your family,
Jennifer Munson, Director

That was very nice of you, Jennifer, to help Eric in his time of need. Let me guess, you've been lurking around for awhile and when you saw Erics post you just HAD to join so you could give him all of that helpful information. Was I close? Well let me have the pleasure of being the first one to welcome you to IAP. Welcome, Jennifer! I really hope you'll stick around.;):)

Rick,
You scared me at first but just to clarify, I haven't been lurking. Actually, I have a google alert set for vp information. When someone posts, I try and give them information to make sure they are able to bring their babies home with them. But thank you for the welcome. I have never heard of penturners (and still don't quite know what they are) but have been looking around in here and there are some beautiful ones! Maybe someone can educate ME! LOL!

Eric,
I looked up Kellie on the vp email group and found her introduction. In fact, I did it myself! I'm so glad she was diagnosed! It literally makes a difference between life and death for the baby. My vp son is almost 4 and I marvel at him all the time. You will too once your little girl is born. Congratulations!!

Jennifer
