As you know Iam getting married at the of November. My wife to be informed me that I had to make a pen for the guest book.

I first thought of the jr gent ball point.
The I saw the sierra an now I am leaning toward that pen.

1. Needs to be a twist otherwise the cap will be lost.
2. Chrome or platinum.

What does everyone think?

Thanks for the help
Alan

I made two wedding pens earlier this summer. This is what they ordered, but they could also be made with mini-captive rings near the finial. This was made with a silver plated slimline kit from Woodturningz.

If the pen is to be used exclusively for the guest book and then put awaym never to see the light of day, you can make a pen and desk stand like Tim or others have made. I find those simple to make following Russ Fairfield's "Long-line" (http://www.woodturnerruss.com/Pen61.html). It takes slimline parts so their are many platings to choose from and the components are very reasonable. If, on the other hand, you want to be able to use the pen going forward, I would suggest something more along the lines of the Sierra, the Olympia, or even the or the European or American Filigree pens (I think they are still on sale at CSUSA).
