Does anyone know of an adaptor that would fit a lathe with a #1 taper that would accept a #2 taper. I have a Beal polishing system that I want to install on an old lathe with a #1 taper, The Beal has a #2 taper, or does anyone have a suggestion.
Thanks for the help!!

Nick; I'm sure such things are made. I looked at LMS, MSC, Enco, and Grizzly and didn't see one like this. :(

Normally the sleeves are to adapt MT2 to MT1 (smaller instead of larger). You will lose some length because the MT2 will stick out beyond the head stock spindle nose.

The easiest way to mount the Beal polisher is to put a drill chuck in the headstock and remove the MT2 taper from the buffing wheels.

Hope this helps....
