That is a nice heavy old wood lathe that someone added a cross slide to. Price is a bit high but they probably through out a high number to see if it would stick or they went by a price someone told them it was worth. Rock solid spindle lathe.

I couldn't tell ya what it's worth. I seen the slide on there and kinda chuckled. I suppose they might have been doing something where that came in handy, or they really don't know what they have. I don't really know much more than Midi lathes myself.

I've seen basket case lathes for sale on Craigslist for way more than that.
The lathes were literally in baskets.
