I just ordered a couple of these Mountblanc 1.5 million dollar pens. What a bargain.
Montblanc's new High Artistry Homage to Johannes Kepler series makes a dazzling case for the pen being mightier than the sword. Honoring the work of the 16th-century mathematician/astronomer/astrologer, the limited-edition pens are decked out in sapphires and diamonds, replicating the sparkling magic of a night sky.
While Kepler famously formulated and published three laws of planetary motion, the Montblanc Maison Artisan Atelier in Hamburg has produced four styles of pens to honor his legacy. The star of the collection is the one-of-a-kind $1.5 million Johannes Kepler High Artistry Stella Nova Limited Edition 1. The sapphires adorning its cap are set in a pattern that emulates the Milky Way, and the pen itself is topped with an extraordinary 6.2-carat D-flawless diamond. Surrounding the brilliant gemstone are three white-gold rings, symbolizing Kepler's three laws. The fine nib of the elegant fountain pen is engraved with the constellation Ophiuchus, which Kepler wrote about in his 1606 publication De Stella Nova. With a total of 5,294 sapphires and 570 diamonds, this Montblanc pen allows for deskbound stargazing at its finest. The pens can be purchased only at Montblanc boutiques, not online.

Hey Andrew...
I just noticed that you live in Ratingen. I've been there several times. I work for ABB (old Calor Emag )
I was there a few months ago on a training course. :)
I don't suppose you work for them too?

A 6.2 carat diamond is 11.94mm in diameter That may be .62 carat in the pen. That or the pen is about 20mm in diameter. A 6 carat diamond in D flawless might be more than 1/2 the cost of the pen.

Yea knowing my luck the USPS would lose the package:biggrin::biggrin: Gee how about that.

I could donate it but no one would bid on it. I can hear Chuck now. Here we have a pen who opens the bid at $5:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: Oh I am going to get letters:biggrin::biggrin:

I just copied the design with off-brand materials and am selling mine for $100k. Quite the bargain. It is the highest price I can get on Etsy. ;)

John, I would be happy to drive up and personally escort such a pen back to my abode for safe keeping. I was thinking more like $5.00 raffle tickets.
