Just bought a Jet 1236 lathe from Amazon. It comes with a 12 inch tool rest. I need a smaller tool rest to turn pens. Where would be a good place to find maybe a 3 inch and 6 inch that will fit the jet.

Thanks

I have one of his on my mini and it is great. I'm sure he could do one for the 1236.

I have a tool rest from Lee valley that I like. I have the 9" but I think that I want to get the 6" one as well. They are made by Sorby. I also saw some at monster-woods that should work well also

Good Luck,
Heather

Best Tools makes a bunch that will fit. You will need to buy the tool post to fit your lathe, then you can buy individual or sets of round tool rests that screw on the post in various lengths. CSUSA as well as others sell them. I have a set that includes a 4" 6" 9" and a 12" I think. I use all of them it seems in equal amounts. I love the variety and I also really like the round shape of the tool rests, others don't like the round shape.
