It seems hard to find the Jr Gent II kits these days, seems many places are out of stock of most versions. Is there a production problem or is the model on its way out

If you are referring to the CSUSA Artisan Jr. Gent II I believe they are being replaced with the Artisan Jr. Gentlemen's Rollerball Pen Kit. That is why the older version is on sale. The new version comes with both postable and non-postable end caps however, there is not fountain pen kit, you have to purchase a separate fountain pen conversion kit.
