Im not sure about most of you, but i know i find myself perusing the site throughout the day while im at work. Does that mean I'm an addict?! Boss walks in my office, {minimize} "hey boss, whats up?" Boss leaves, {maximize}LOL, you just cant get good help nowadays:biggrin:. Anymore when my boss walks in, he knows what im doing anyway, either dreaming up new ideas for coin blanks, thinking of modifications for different pen kits or anything pen related. It can appear somewhat pathetic im sure, but oh well, its my life. Then of course when i go home in the evening, my brain is running a hundred miles an hour with different things i had thought of through the day and I either didnt write them down and cant remember them or I want to work on all of them and there just isnt enough time in the evening to get to all of them. Ahhhhh! Where's a shrink, LOL, no im not addicted, just in denial. My name is Seamus, thanks for letting me share!

I work in my upstairs bedroom office (when I'm not traveling). I love the commute!

I keep about 6 forums open all day... (only one Pen forum, however  )

Oh as for new ideas, after looking at the nickel pen I wondered how a pen would look like with 6-12 coins on it! Varying with 1¢, 5¢, 10¢ and 25¢ pieces! Maybe even one that's near the end of the blank and ends up getting trimmed.

At work? or WORKING?
I have my music going in the back ground, IAP on auto refresh every couple of minutes on the left monitor, work on the middle, and emails on the right monitor.

That's interesting, but Seamus has already thought of that. He told me about it a few months back when I was working with him on a Montana pen. Be thought of making it a birth year pen with all the coins from the year of the owners birth.

Oh, and back on topic. Like TomW, I work at home. It has it's benefits, but it sucks when the wife thinks that since I don't have a "REAL JOB", I can do things for her. It's like she thinks these forums read themselves . . . . . . SHEESH.

Wow, and I thought that I was the only one who sneaked peeks at the IAP during the work day like I'm doing now. If my boss sees me, I can tell him that I am getting the creative juices flowing by looking at pens. Yea, like that's going to work.

You are not alone. My day wouldn't be complete without the random 10 stops I make here. My boss randomly asks what new pens I'm workin on. I've sold several that way. My biggest problem is the coworkers looking over my shoulder thinking they can place an order with me for the pens they see, and the thought that they can get them tomorrow. Lol.

Hey this is my work. I am suppose to be on during the day.

Mmmmmm............my guess is that Linda isn't there today, huh?

As a matter of fact she is not here on Thursday and Friday. I would never dream of overworking my precious wife. The scary part is she plans a visit to our local pen shop today. That can be expensive.

LOL no but man can I cook!.........

Seriously though I thought this was going to be a piece of cake. Hang out with the boy do some fishing while we work on numbers, you know a second childhood for me. In some ways it has been. HOWEVER being a stay at home dad has been the most demanding job I have ever done! From carpenter to guide, RN to tattoo artist no job I have ever done took as much time, energy and dedication as this one! And none has been as rewarding...........

I need something to do during my boring teleconferences

Nah, during them I am on my wireless head set behind the lathe. I have bowls named things like " Dell Bought Compellent", "Maximizing your VM footprint" etc. they are named after the Conference call I was supposed to be listening to while I turned them.

It is so bad that my boss, when she calls roll, has put me out of order at the end of the list so I have time to get back to the phone. Or she will send me an IM to "Check my pulse".

I can relate and agree. My wife and I work opposite shifts so we don't have to find a sitter. I have our son from morning when he wakes to 3pm. There are days I have to go to work at 4 just to get rested up. I don't ever remember having his energy. Thank God for the IPhone so I can make a few quick visits here. Lol

John, we are remote enough that the computer is my main source of social contact, I am very thankful for the break it gives me and the chance to talk about something other than boogers and would Spiderman kick Batman's butt!

I pop in and out a lot from work as well, but only when I see a little slack in the work load to do so. If there's work to be done, that comes first since after all they are pay me to be there and do work for them.

Since I work in an IT helpdesk, I do, however, believe the the mental break between phone calls and emails with user problems is a good thing for my own mental state while there.

Opps there's another email...
