I have been acting as the ES&H (environmental health and safety coordinator for the past year or so (number 3 in my management responsibilities). And I though security was thankless. In the past we have had some bad inspections (documentation and procedures not injuries). Well yesterday THEY came to visit again. Today they left happy with what we are doing and the only possible finding is that we haven’t documented that we follow that manufactures manual when we operate a particular piece of equipment. I feel GOOD.

Congrats on the visit. I know it made you feel good.

I led our plant safety team for 5 years and I know what you mean about the documentation. Just before I left the plant we had just celebrated 20 years without a lost time accident and about 12 without a recordable and I was pushing hard for VPP. The only thing we would ever get hit on was the documentation. I think I finally got it thru some of the supervisors heads that "if it ain't documented, it ain't been done."
