Glacia cap problems

Has anyone made the Glacia kit from Berea and had issues with the cap not pushing down flush with the decorative band? When I looking inside the cap there's a little nib that that hits the transmission and prevents a flush seat. The issues causes an 1/8" gap and I was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem or I'm missing something silly
