Pen 22
PSI Knurl Pen Kit in gun metal with a wood blank I made.

The "main body" is zebra wood with cherry burl at each end.

Four 0.125" wide chevrons rows are made from curly maple, padauk, and blue dyed eucalyptus.

The zebra wood circle within each chevron row was made using a 1/4" plug cutter.

Both ends and body where turned down on the lathe and then the 4 flats where created with a palm router jig affixed to my lathe bed.

The blank was then finished using CA.

Just simple, but nice...was an unmarked piece, so not sure what it is. Am still just learning and I like how this one finished out.

Great looking pens.....very well done.

Some of those blanks just take my breat away. Nature is such an artist and there are people here that have the skills to bring out that beautifully.

Have a question Michael Do you do anything with the photos sent to you such as touch ups or resizing?? The reason I ask is just about every pen shown the photography is well done. The pens are well represented and clear to really see the characteristics of the woods. There are many here that look like they can go in a catalog or magazine. Good job by all. :)

The only thing I do is resize them. I use Microsoft Picture manager to do all of them at once. It makes them easier to up load.

Thanks for the reply. I like the resizing thing because it puts them all on that same playing field and have to say we have some photographers here that are pretty darn good. Really helps presenting these pens.:)

Voting on the elimination rounds ends tonight. I will post a final poll as soon as I can and we can get the best of the best selected. IF you havent voted, ask a friend to help, maybe a Ouija board will clear up your choice. I personally like a quick pick random number generator myself, of course you could look at the pens and pick the ones you like.
