I had one Dremel from decades ago which gave up several years ago. I went to Lowe's and bought a new one.....several weeks ago, it too said "I'm Done".
I checked motor brushes, blew them both out but both were totally dead. I suspect the switch/speed control.

The new one was still under warranty so I called Dremel and was instructed to sent both of them to the service center. Hoping to pay for new switches and repair or receiving rebuilt units, I waited.

About a week later, I received a box and my old #395 had been replaced with a new #3000 and my newer #4200 was replaced with a new #4300 unit.
Wow! I did not expect this! This was like Christmas! Two brand new units and absolutely no cost other than sending them to the service center.
The new #4300 even had the wrenchless chuck and an LED light!

So, there are good folks at Dremel!

I have Lowe's generic tool. Works great! I can't understand why no one stocks the 3/4 inch felt wheels. They all have the small ones but not the bigger ones. If I could find them, I would order at least two dozen.
