I would like to turn a chess set for my grandson as he graduates from high school next spring. Trouble is I can't find a pattern just for turning. Any help you can give would greatly appricated. [:I]

Darley and Mudder - great links! I was aware of the woodcraft kits but you really went a step beyond the basic question. That's what the IAC, er, IAP is all about. [:p]

Might I also suggest Mike Darlow's "Turned Chessmen." A great book with LOTS of information and patterns.
