I am a member of the Gwinnett Woodworkers Association (GWA), located in suburban NE Atlanta, GA.

Our group is assisting an individual who has been making canes for our Veterans. He has been working mostly with power hand tools. When he and his daughter visited us, we immediately saw the need for a group effort in making these canes for this worthwhile cause. A member with a large shop has volunteered the use of the shop and all equipment to make these canes.

We have received donated lumber from various hardwoods suppliers and individuals. Recently we received a very generous donation of well seasoned white oak. We will accept 4/4 and 5/4 hardwood donations within a reasonable driving distance and are able to load and transport.

Each cane has a special area to place the seal of the military branch the recipient served with.

The patches, and other materials are expensive for a small organization. We have recently started a Gofundme.com account in the name of CANES FOR HEROES.

Please if you are able to contribute any amount, know that it will be put to good use. To date we have completed in excess of 600 canes for these veterans who have sacrificed so much for us all.

I will be happy to answer questions regarding GWA and CANES FOR HEROES.

Thank you,

Charlie
