That wouldn't be the 45 cal. Click pen by woodcraft would it I had a similar problem with this mechanism contacted them and they sent me a new one

No it wasn't. It was the regular 30 cal bullet click pen. The click button and transmission was too tight to enter the upper chrome cap. I ordered new transmissions. I think a little sandpaper on a dowel will solve the problem.
